About this event
VILLAGE OF LANCASTER
NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
TO BE HELD MONDAY NOVEMBER 23, 2026
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE That the Village of Lancaster Board of Trustees will conduct a public hearing in the Council Chambers of the Lancaster Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway, Lancaster, New York on Monday, November 23, 2026 at 7:15 P.M. to consider a local law which if adopted would amend Chapter 263 “Sewers” of the Village Code to clarify that in most instances village properties must be equipped with a functioning sump pump to keep unpolluted water such as surface runoff or groundwater from entering a public sanitary sewer.
The local law if adopted would, except in specified instances, prohibit the transfer of property without the prior inspection and certification of an authorized representative of the Village Department of Public Works affirming that, as to that property, unpolluted water is not being invited into the village sanitary sewer system.
The full text of the proposed local law may be reviewed at the Village of Lancaster website https://lancastervillageny.gov or during office hours at the office of the Village Clerk, Lancaster Municipal Building, 5423 Broadway, Lancaster, New York.
At said hearing, all persons so desiring shall have the opportunity to be heard.
Michael E. Stegmeier
Village Clerk
