  • OLV Basilica is hosting Kids Night Under the Dome to offer fun activities that introduce children to faith and build community ties. The event will take place at the basilica and is designed to engage local families.  WGRZ
  • Tobogganing kicked off at Chestnut Ridge Park — families enjoyed racing down snowy hills on Saturday — as local kids and parents celebrated winter fun.  WGRZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Ocean's 12, a new seafood restaurant, is set to open in January at the Westbrook Apartments (675 Delaware Ave) in Buffalo. The basement space has been empty for nearly 20 years since Amaryllis Restaurant closed.  WGRZ
  • Guacado Mexican Grille signed a lease at 490 Pearl St in the downtown Theatre District to bring its new fast-casual Mexican menu (build-your-own bowls, burritos and tacos) to Buffalo.  WGRZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • Local artist Eric Jones created a massive snow sculpture honoring Buffalo Bills legends Jim Kelly and Josh Allen in Buffalo.  WGRZ
  • The Buffalo United Community Choir is set to perform their final anthem at Highmark Stadium as the venue marks the closing chapter of Bills history, celebrating local unity and pride. The reflective tribute offers a heartfelt farewell to an iconic community space.  WGRZ
  • Buffalo United Community Choir, with 75 members, will perform what is likely the final national anthem today at Highmark Stadium before a Bills home game. Choir director Karen Saxon says the gospel-inspired arrangement celebrates Buffalo’s unity and pride.  WGRZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Bird Island Pier will receive $15.5 million in repairs to fix about 3,000 feet damaged by winter storms, ice, and seiche events. New concrete blocks, grouted stone (with a protective concrete layer) will be installed to secure the structure.  The Buffalo News

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health officials reported over 1,700 weekly influenza cases in Erie County as the severe respiratory virus season continues, and they advise residents to take preventive measures by monitoring symptoms and seeking vaccination when needed.  The Buffalo News

SPORTS NEWS

  • Today, after decades of memorable Bills games, the press box at Bills Stadium will host its final experience as Buffalo faces the Jets. A new, modern facility will open this summer, marking the end of an era (and sparking new beginnings) in local sports history.  WGRZ
  • Fans 18 and older can sign up now to shovel snow off Highmark Stadium before the Bills game against the Jets today. Volunteers earn $20 per hour with food, hot drinks + rewards and will be contacted within 24 hours after submitting their availability.  WGRZ
  • Fans from across the country have gathered today at Highmark Stadium in Orchard Park to shovel snow for the Bills' 4:25 p.m. game, and this may be the last time they support this historic tradition with only one regular season home game left and no expected playoff game.  WGRZ
