  • National Grid says 3,400 customers in Buffalo are without power after an underground fault east of Main Street disrupted service from East Utica Street to Perry Street; crews expect power to be restored by 10:30 a.m.  ABC 7

  • Costco is set to open mid-June at Ridge Lea Road in Amherst next to Dick’s House of Sports, both part of Benderson Development's new Boulevard complex & local leaders expect this retail debut to attract more national retailers.  WBEN
  • Five startups join the 11th cohort of the 43North accelerator at Seneca One today, including Rad-Employ using conversational AI for radiology staffing and FLOE installing sensor+real-time managed deicing systems.   • A mother filed suit against the principal and school district after her high school senior daughter was barred from attending Depew High for not receiving a meningitis booster vaccine — the case is now pending.  The Buffalo News

  • Buffalo Public Schools Superintendent Pascal Mubenga and School Board President Kathy Evans Brown announced today that School 90 & School 3 will remain open as the district seeks other ways to save money.  The Buffalo News
  • Federal officials announced plans to freeze billions in federal aid for low-income families, and Gov. Hochul confirmed on Tuesday that up to $3 billion in childcare funds plus $7 billion through TANF will be halted in New York and four other states — Erie County is reviewing how local services may be affected.  WGRZ

  • People Inc. reported a rise in influenza A hospitalizations in local group homes and day habilitation programs, and experts urge residents to get vaccinated, wash hands, and wear masks to limit spread — measures aimed at protecting vulnerable populations.  WBFO

  • BFC Partners and St. John Baptist Church are set to begin a $126M renovation on the 360-unit Towne Gardens Section 8 apartment complex, offering modern improvements for residents. The work will start soon with project details to follow.  The Buffalo News
