- ➤ National Grid plans to install over 121,000 new smart meters in Buffalo as part of its new energy program (installation is set to begin soon). WGRZ
- ➤ Buffalo will host the NHL Draft June 26-27 and is expected to bring 90 to 100 young hockey prospects and their families downtown. Visit Buffalo CEO Patrick Kaler said the event will boost local spending by over $3 million and help put the city on the national stage. WBEN

Kathy Hochul announced on Jan. 13 that Devil's Hole and Whirlpool State Park will join Niagara Falls State Park, adding over two miles of hiking trails and easier access to local attractions (Destination Niagara USA CEO John Percy said the change awaits state legislature approval later this year).
