  • Letter carriers are bracing for bitter cold and strong winds this week as they use high-tech winter gear and breathable layers to stay safe. They ask residents to clear sidewalks and driveways (aiding in safe mail delivery) in the area.  WBEN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Renovations on the Golisano Institute of Business and Entrepreneurship at the former Buffalo News building are underway in downtown Buffalo and the center will open early September (serving up to 100 students). A $20 million investment is transforming a 155,000 sqft space into a local educational hub.  WBEN

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • In Buffalo, city crews and private contractors cleared main and residential streets after about a foot of snow fell, and alternate side parking rules resumed at 6 p.m. Tuesday. Officials tracked progress on updated digital maps and advised residents to sign up for text updates (by texting their zip code to 38276).  WGRZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Bills interviewed Rams pass game coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, who completed his second season on the Rams staff, as they continue their search for a new head coach — he was also interviewed by teams from Cleveland, Las Vegas, and Pittsburgh.  Spectrum News
  • Tuesday night, Rasmus Dahlin scored his first NHL hat trick with two assists to lead the Sabres to a 7-4 win over the Maple Leafs in a home game. Tage Thompson (playing his 500th NHL game) and his teammates helped Buffalo secure a four-game winning streak.  WGRZ
  • The Buffalo Bills have hired Joe Brady as the new head coach on a five-year deal after a week-long search. He previously led the offense as interim offensive coordinator (and full-time in 2023) and replaces longtime coach Sean McDermott following playoff setbacks.  Spectrum News
  • The Raiders held second interviews with Buffalo offensive coordinator Joe Brady and Denver quarterbacks coach Davis Webb on Monday as they search for a head coach to replace fired Pete Carroll after a 3-14 season. They are meeting with four candidates and will update the decision soon.  Spectrum News
