- ➤ Chandler Street Breweries opened in Black Rock, bringing Community Beer Works, Thin Man Brewery and Smoldered Society Beer Company together at a renovated taproom at 166 Chandler Street. The venue offers 24 draft lines and wood-fired pizzas and is open Wednesday to Saturday from 12 to 10 p.m. and Sunday from 12 to 9 p.m. ABC 7

- ➤ Buffalo Public Schools launched a pilot program in January that offers cash rewards for students with no more than one absence during each month (first prize $500, then $300 and $200). The district will review the program's impact after six months. Spectrum News
- ➤ Sacred Heart School students will host 'Care for Clare' this spring to honor teacher Maria Clare, diagnosed with breast cancer this summer. The fundraiser features hair donations, pink-out day, custom T-shirts and a drive to support Reagan’s Rainbows of Hope (which sends care bags to children in treatment). ABC 7
- ➤ The University at Buffalo is offering free tax prep services next weekend at Allen Hall on South Campus from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 14 — 15, for households earning $69,000 or less, with IRS certified UB School of Management students assisting. Spectrum News

- ➤ Buffalo Mayor Sean Ryan confirmed that a Wednesday water main break near Black Rock has been repaired after releasing 15-20 million gallons that caused flooding and trapped vehicles and residents near the Jasper Parrish apartments. Crews finished the first paving phase on Hertel Avenue and Military Road with no injuries. Spectrum News

- ➤ Neighborhood Health Center will expand on the West Side with a $12M project that builds a 39,720 sqft facility at the southwest corner of West and Forest avenues (the former site of Luigi's Family Bakery slated for demolition). The plan will boost local health services. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen finished third in voting for the 2025 AP NFL Most Valuable Player award by earning 91 points from two first-place votes.
