- ➤ On Feb. 19, Border Patrol agents dropped 56-year-old Burmese refugee Nurul Amin Shah Alam at a Tim Hortons on Niagara Street, and officials later found him dead near KeyBank Center, which local attorney Rosanna Berardi says highlights a communication gap between law enforcement agencies. WBEN
- ➤ Officials announced new pedestrian safety measures on Elm & Oak streets to improve crossing conditions for residents and visitors. The local government will begin implementing these changes soon. WGRZ

- ➤ The New York State Department of Health issued a Statement of Deficiencies to the Comprehensive Rehab and Nursing Center in Williamsville following a complaint-driven investigation, with the facility having 10 days to submit a repair plan while roof repairs continue and Amherst Police visited on an employment matter. - ➤ A crisis stabilization center has begun offering immediate help for anxiety, depression and substance use in Western New York — its first-of-its-kind approach is already making a difference for local residents. Community leaders expect the center to expand access to timely care. WGRZ

- ➤ Terry Pegula has partnered with developer Nick Sinatra to restart the $46 million stalled Heritage Point project at Canalside. Work will resume in early March and the apartments are expected to be move-in ready by late summer 2027, officials said. WBEN
- ➤ Developer Douglas Jemal sold his mansion on Nottingham Terrace, built around 1932 and covering 7,864 sqft, for $2.75 million, marking a 52% profit since his sons purchased it for $1.425 million in April 2020. The property was listed at $2.5 million and was bought by 135 Nottingham LLC. WBEN
