  • Ferguson teams with local organizations for an adoption event on Saturday at Total Sports on Orchard Park Road (from noon to 4).  WGRZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • AAA Western & Central New York earned the Allianz Partners Top Club Award and a Best Places to Work honor from Business First. Basil Dealerships launched Basil Mobility at Joe Basil Chevrolet in Depew and started site work on the Northern Chautauqua Hospital in Fredonia, set to open late 2028.  WBEN
  • Buffalo-based Delaware North will require employees at its Delaware Avenue headquarters to work in-office from Monday through Thursday & on hybrid Fridays starting May 4. The company employs about 425 downtown and joins other local firms boosting central business activity.  WBEN

CULTURE NEWS

  • Longtime radio personality Janet Snyder will retire from WSKE-FM, KISS 98.5 in May after more than 40 years in broadcasting, including a stint on Channel 2. Her retirement marks the end of an era for Western New York media.  WGRZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • A judge ordered creditors in the diocese bankruptcy case to opt in, a move Attorney Steve Boyd said challenges nearly 900 claimants (some without legal representation and facing mental health issues) and may complicate settlement.  WBEN
  • At a BMHA meeting yesterday (where residents had three minutes each to speak), local community members reported issues like sleeping on floors and hallways, while BMHA officials acknowledged the feedback and pledged to work on improvements.  WGRZ
  • City leaders proposed permanent changes to Delaware Park's entrances at Meadow Road, Agassiz Circle, Colvin Avenue, and Amherst Street to improve safety and access. A public meeting is scheduled for Thursday, Mar. 26, 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Parkside Lodge — available both in-person and virtual.  WGRZ
  • Sen. Gillibrand supports a tariff rebate proposal that would issue checks of up to $1,200 (plus an extra $600 per child) to qualifying households, including those earning under $180K, to help ease rising costs. The bill remains pending and could ease financial pressures after recent job losses.  WBFO

SPORTS NEWS

  • Bryan Hodgson made his NCAA Tournament head coaching debut in Buffalo as his South Florida Bulls lost 83 to 79 to Louisville in a first round game. His family (in attendance) cheered him on as his team rallied from a 23 point deficit before facing elimination.  WGRZ
  • The NCAA men’s basketball tournament is underway in Buffalo with 19,000 visitors expected over the next several days at KeyBank Center; Visit Buffalo president Patrick Kaler said 60 volunteers are guiding guests to local eateries & attractions across the city.  WBEN
