  • Joey Hamilton, a Western New Yorker, showcased his multimedia program (Checkers the Inventor: Reading Road Trip) at Harry F. Abate Elementary on Tuesday to boost literacy among Niagara Falls students, and he will perform again Saturday at Niagara Falls Public Library Main Street branch at 1:30 p.m.  WBFO

HEALTH NEWS

  • Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center launched a holistic lung health program for Indigenous communities across the U.S., Canada, and the Pacific Islands on March 24 in Salamanca. Funded by a three-year Eli Lilly grant, it adds virtual screening and wellness tools to Native employee benefits (Healthy Workforce, Productive Community).  WBFO

  • On Wednesday night, the Sabres hosted the Bruins at KeyBank Center as Buffalo sought to build on a 6-5 overtime loss in Anaheim. With key forward Tage Thompson (72 points this season) among those expected to shine, the teams had split their season series.  WGRZ
  • Officials from the Bills stadium project provided an update on its construction progress (details on milestones and work schedules were shared to guide next steps) yesterday. Work is set to continue on schedule at the current stadium site.  WBEN
  • The Buffalo Bills will partner with Section VI, Section V, and Monsignor Martin to host the 2026 High School Girls Flag Football Kickoff from Friday, March 27 to Sunday, March 29 at the Bills Training Center (Orchard Park), where over 70 teams and 1,750 athletes from Buffalo and Rochester will participate in flag football sessions.  WGRZ
