- ➤ Today the Buffalo-Niagara Boat Show begins at Sahlen's Sports Park in Elma with a free preview from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m.; tickets will be $10 from Friday to Sunday and more than 50 boat brands will be on display. Sisters of Charity's St. Joseph Campus earned an award as a high performing hospital for knee and hip replacement surgery, Tops will start a Scouting for Food drive on April 5, and SUNY Fredonia is hosting online MBA open houses in accounting from March 31 to May 7. - ➤ Hallmark Channel, NFL Films, and the Bills announced a new holiday movie called Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story — the film will be shot in Buffalo over the summer and will focus on a love story featuring the Bills. No details on the plot or cast were released. WBEN
- ➤ Erie County approved three public art projects funded by the Public Arts Act, including a mural on the rear wall of the Buffalo Convention Center, a mural at the Erie County Health Mall, and a bright blue sculpture at Ellicott Creek Park. The county will execute contracts by May so that work on the projects will begin quickly—installations are expected this summer. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Buffalo's acting mayor Chris Scanlon said that the city's budget gap has grown to over $50M—driven by low taxes, rising health care costs, and stagnant property levies—and warned that closing the gap will require a property tax increase. - ➤ SAA|EVI began demolition of the Voelkers Lanes complex at the northwest corner of Amherst Street and Elmwood Avenue as the developer prepares to build a five-story mixed-use building—230 affordable apartments with a commercial space that includes a bowling alley and bar.
