- ➤ A Clarence man was awarded $10 million after a compound bow he used exploded and left him without his left eye at his company property in Cheektowaga. His son argued the case in court—saying the bow was defective before he released the string. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Buffalo Police investigated a car crash on Cambridge Avenue in the Delavan-Ferry neighborhood on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.—they found two passengers with gunshot wounds, one of whom died at the scene and the other later at ECMC. ABC 7

- ➤ The Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, Chorus and soloists performed on March 29 at 7:30 p.m. and March 30 at 2:30 p.m. at Kleinhans Music Hall where Grand Island native Malcolm Merriweather conducted works on black history—Paul Moravec’s Sanctuary Road and Margaret Bonds’s Montgomery Variations—that used stirring choral and solo voices to retell key historic struggles. - ➤ Orchard Park will expand four elementary schools in the next phase of a $114M capital project using $26.9M to add six classrooms at Eggert, Ellicott, South Davis — Windom. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Kenmore homeowners will pay an extra $125 in village taxes next year as the tentative 2025-26 budget raises the tax levy by 5%—a rate set above the state cap—even though last year's increase exceeded 9%. Rising costs for employee benefits, police services and supplies helped drive the budget boost that also covers higher spending on a new police headquarters currently under construction and expected to cost over $11 million. - ➤ On Saturday, about 150 protesters gathered on South Park Avenue in Buffalo to oppose Elon Musk’s role in leading the newly formed Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) that has cut several federal programs. The protest was part of a national movement (covering 277 Tesla showrooms) where counterprotesters also gathered at some sites. WBEN

- ➤ The Healthy Kids Running Series has engaged children in Amherst, Hamburg and Angola since 2009 to boost physical fitness and self-esteem through fun running events.
