  • The Buffalo Zoo is celebrating its 150th anniversary today with a Bunny Treat Trail event—more themed days are planned for May and June—while Papa's Pizza has moved into the former Campfire Grill in Clarence after opening five new locations in the past year and a half. Nominations for the Business Ethics Awards are now open with submissions due by May 1.  WBEN

  • Buffalo Police issued three citations to Daniel “D.J.” Granville (chief of Narcotics and Intelligence Unit) for leaving the scene of a crash on April 11, 2024 that damaged seven vehicles (on the West Side).  WGRZ
  • Buffalo Police detectives arrested notorious property owner Charles Dobucki at an auto shop in North Buffalo for charges including three outstanding housing court warrants and false impersonation after he repeatedly failed to address code violations at his long-abandoned property at 2 St. Louis Place in Allentown+ he is set to appear in housing court on May 19 at 9:30 a.m.  Buffalo Rising
  • Five officers with the Buffalo Police Department are on administrative leave as an investigation reviews their actions during the response on April 11 when Erie County Sheriff’s Office chief Daniel DJ Granville crashed his pickup into several vehicles and a related accident report was signed by his relative.  ABC 7

  • Today, Buffalo Pro Soccer announced plans to build a 7,600-seat stadium at Elk and Lee Street in the Valley neighborhood after their Cobblestone District plan lost state funding—construction will begin this summer with features like family-friendly ticket pricing, hospitality suites, and training facilities. Supporters can also become Founding Members by placing deposits on season tickets before construction starts.  Buffalo Rising
