- ➤ Buffalo’s largest dairy cooperative will use the new name UNC Dairy (to simplify its branding) while keeping its official name Upstate Niagara Cooperative and is managed by 230 farmer owners (ensuring quality dairy products) as it aims to boost national recognition. WGRZ
- ➤ Buckminster's Cat Cafe — a coffee shop and adoptable cat rescue — is in the running for Newsweek's Reader's Choice Awards for Best Cat Cafe 2025. People can vote once a day until May 8 at noon ET and winners will be announced May 15. WGRZ

- ➤ Buffalo's arts community mourns former CEPA Gallery director Lawrence Brose, who died Sunday of pancreatic cancer at 73 — he was known as an experimental film artist. He spent 25 years turning the gallery into a major art center — his legacy includes over 30 films that inspired local art. WGRZ
- ➤ Today, the Buffalo Museum of Science started its Spring into Space event where staff from the Challenger Center help visitors study space rocks and build mini Mars rovers. The owners of the former Radisson on Grand Island are still looking for a buyer after a deal fell apart— the Bills began work on a new field for their stadium and local gas dropped by 1 cent to $3.06 per gallon on Monday. - ➤ A teacher at Buffalo Public School 79 was placed on paid administrative leave after accidentally giving edible gummies to two students on April 1st, and both students were sent to a hospital for evaluation while their parents were notified. WBEN

- ➤ Buffalo Mayor Christopher P. Scanlon announced Phase I renovations at Houghton Park with a $2.34 million investment that will upgrade parking, drainage pathways, lighting, security and sports facilities, with construction running through spring and summer—funded by city resources and county funds via the American Rescue Plan. - ➤ Kenmore lawyer Kevin Stocker, who has run for several offices without a win, said he is planning to challenge Rep. Nick Langworthy for the 23rd Congressional District seat and may also run for Erie County sheriff if local support calls for change. He said he will start gathering signatures by June 1—while some local party leaders remain unsure if he is serious about the race. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Doctors in Buffalo warned that when baby formula is watered down, it can cause dangerous water intoxication and seizures—in one case, a young infant suffered from low sodium levels after the formula was mixed improperly.
