- ➤ Jett’s Bagels relocated from East Aurora to Broadway Market and rebranded — in honor of the owners’ late son Jett Hamann, who was killed after being hit by a train last November — to keep his memory alive. - ➤ The 5/14 Memorial Commission has become the Memorial Foundation to build a permanent memorial honoring those lost in the May 14th mass shooting. At Monday’s inaugural meeting, board members set procedures and discussed plans for a chosen site—titled 'Seeing Us' and designed by Jin Young Song and Douglass Alligood—that will feature 10 pillars with the victims' names and photos and include a building for community programs, with total costs nearing $15 million.
