- ➤ Buffalo Common Council members and Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes urged the state to pass bills that would establish a Buffalo Parking Authority and adjust hotel property taxes in the proposed 2025-26 budget. They warned that without these bills the city may face steep property tax hikes—up to 30%—and service cuts that would hurt local residents. WBEN
- ➤ On Friday, Assembly Majority Leader Crystal Peoples-Stokes and four council members met with local residents outside City Hall to ask Gov. Hochul and state lawmakers to include Mayor Scanlon's proposals in the state budget. The proposals call for forming a parking authority to buy city garages for about $40-60 million and adding a 3% bed tax to bring in over $3 million each year. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Buffalo is set to get a pro soccer team as Buffalo Pro Soccer has chosen an urban stadium site with safe air quality and plans to begin games in 2026. President Peter Marlette Jr.—a former varsity player—said the new team will offer local players and staff a chance to build soccer careers. WGRZ
- ➤ The Sabres are telling fans they need to fix the old KeyBank Center and improve the team as U.S. tariffs reduce Canadian season ticket renewals by 10%. Pete Guelli said they will work on the arena & team to bring back more fans from Southern Ontario. The Buffalo News
- ➤ Former Bills player Lee Evans (selected No. 13 in the 2004 draft) will announce Bills picks in rounds two and three on Friday during the NFL Draft in Green Bay. The Bills hold 10 selections, but trades may change these picks. WGRZ
- ➤ Many Buffalo Sabres season ticket holders have decided not to renew their tickets after the team missed the playoffs for the 14th year.
