- ➤ A federal judge in Buffalo rejected Payton Gendron’s request on Tuesday to remove the death penalty from his federal trial—he was convicted in state court for killing 10 Black people at the Tops supermarket on May 14. ABC 7
- ➤ A federal judge denied Payton Gendron's motion to remove the death penalty option in his federal case for the racist mass shooting at Tops on Jefferson Avenue in Buffalo—finding no evidence that the grand jury was misused by prosecutors. WGRZ

- ➤ Buffalo’s Larkin Square has announced its 2025 summer schedule for KeyBank Live and Food Truck Tuesday events. KeyBank Live will run from June 4 through August 27 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.—featuring popular bands and a special ticketed concert on August 6—and Food Truck Tuesday will take place every Tuesday from June 3 to August 26 with about 20 trucks serving a range of options. - ➤ Buffalo officials will hold two public hearings for residents to voice budget feedback; one will take place on April 28 at 5 p.m. at the Central Library and another on April 29 at 5:30 p.m. in City Hall’s council chambers, while future budget workshops and a public hearing in June will offer additional opportunities before the council adopts the proposal by May 26 — the Comptroller must file the budget analysis by May 10.
