- ➤ Buffalo Public Schools is tackling chronic absenteeism following a report showing one in three students statewide miss class. Officials introduced a monthly attendance lottery (funded by Say Yes Buffalo) earlier this year to help boost regular attendance. ABC 7
- ➤ Kenmore West career fair has grown from 13 to 55 vendors based on high school student feedback that added creative jobs such as tattoo artists and new yoga studios. The event gives students more options to explore career paths as they plan for life after graduation. WGRZ
- ➤ In a show of team spirit for the tied Buffalo Sabres+Bruins, Boston Valley Elementary has temporarily renamed itself Sabres Valley School for round one of the NHL playoffs, with plans to revert to its regular name after the round. WGRZ

- ➤ The former Seneca Mall site on Orchard Park Road in West Seneca is now under construction for 500,000 sqft of mixed-use development on 56 acres, with fill material placed to support future buildings (some sourced from the new Highmark Stadium) and town officials expecting a major tenant announcement by June.
