- ➤ Patricia & Clifford 'Skippy' Rohloff celebrated 70 years together in Cheektowaga as they reached 94, marking a long life of love and commitment. They met in church and married at 23 while raising five children, eight grandchildren & five great-grandchildren. ABC 7
- ➤ Linda Gellman led a Saturday morning neighborhood cleanup along Mid Elmwood at Rite Aid that drew about 15 volunteers to improve the 400-500 block area. The event was sponsored by WNY Trash Mob and The Tool Library—providing tools and refreshments to support the local effort. Buffalo Rising

- ➤ The University at Buffalo is holding its third annual Art of Research competition with 101 submissions from graduate students and postdoctoral scholars and will display 40 finalist works at the Buffalo Museum of Science today from 6-8 p.m. Over 200 high school students from Buffalo Public Schools visited the exhibit earlier to vote for their favorite image + learn about UB's research. - ➤ On April 26, Buffalo Niagara Waterkeeper held its annual Spring Sweep where roughly 1,500 volunteers and 20 partner organizations cleaned 35 sites spanning 9,000 acres of waterfront — they collected between 10,000 and 20,000 pounds of trash. Cleanup data recorded on a mobile app will help guide future water protection efforts. Buffalo Rising

- ➤ The Buffalo Fiscal Stability Authority on Monday passed a resolution declaring Acting Mayor Christopher Scanlon’s budget proposal incomplete because of concerns over uncertain revenue estimates and the lack of a formal gap plan. Scanlon said he would offer more details if needed and his plan includes an 8% property tax increase, selling city parking ramps to bring in $30 million, and a new Hotel Occupancy Tax for an estimated $15 million over four years — each measure awaiting state approval. - ➤ Two months after paying $21.7 million for Towne Gardens Apartments on the East Side, developers plan to replace the aging Towne Gardens Plaza on William Street with a seven-story tower that could feature up to 310 new apartments.
