- ➤ Buffalo native George Nicholas Sr. (a Korean War veteran) celebrated his 100th birthday on Sunday; he said his secret to a long life is sharing love. WGRZ
- ➤ Casa De Mama Bodega opened Saturday at 975 Broadway on the East Side to boost food access and serve as a community hub. Owner Suheiri Rodriguez said plans include a nonprofit for a food pantry and hygiene facilities and unveiled a mural honoring Buffalo and the Dominican Republic. WGRZ
- ➤ Erie County Parks teamed up with local gardening groups to host a pollinator festival at Emery Park this spring — the event offers wildflower walks, workshops, plant sales, and live animal exhibits to teach families how to protect native pollinators. WGRZ
- ➤ Norine Kawczynski of Orchard Park celebrated her 100th birthday on Sunday as family and friends gathered to honor her contributions; she received a proclamation recognizing her lasting impact on the community. WGRZ
