  • Crews are repairing a sinkhole on Potters Road (near Cazenovia Creek, just west of Interstate 90) after a water main break eroded the pavement, and the road remains closed.  ABC 7

  • New York's Department of Environmental Conservation seized a spider monkey kept illegally on Grand Island on Apr. 14 when investigators responded to reports that its caretaker could no longer care for it; the animal was found with a broken wrist & rickets and is now at a primate sanctuary.  WGRZ

  • Buffalo officials are pursuing all legal options after a last-minute change dropped a financing deal to reopen the vacant Buffalo Grand Hotel. The city will explore legal avenues until a credible redevelopment and financing plan is secured.  ABC 7

  • Doctors, families, and Congressman Nick Langworthy celebrated the signing of the Give Kids a Chance Act at Roswell Park on Friday, May 8, a law designed to speed access to pediatric cancer treatments through increased funding and strengthened FDA oversight.  WBFO
