  • Seneca Nation leaders and citizens gathered along Buffalo Creek in West Seneca yesterday to mark the signing of the 1842 treaty that redefined land rights. The event highlighted how historic challenges persist as the Nation regains ancestral lands (including recent returns on Grand Island).  WBFO
  • Save A Lot in Buffalo closed at 2160 Gensee Street after thanking customers — the Buffalo History Museum opened GLAMerica 250 yesterday at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate fashion on America’s 250th birthday, and golfers will compete on August 17 at Lancaster Country Club to benefit Special Olympics New York.  WBEN

  • The Smithsonian Institution's Center for the Digitization and Curation of African American History partners with the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor to launch Community Curation 2026, a free series of events celebrating Black history.   • Starpoint Middle School dedicated its fight song to Eddie Golden, honoring his legacy and contributions to local school spirit. Officials said the new tune will help unite students and celebrate community pride.  WGRZ
  • Thirty-four faculty and clinical staff at UBMD Neurology warned UB leadership of an impending failure of the department and practice plan in a recent letter — UB said it is working on a solution.  The Buffalo News
