- ➤ A man on Puerto Rico’s most wanted list was arrested in Lancaster on June 5th when Border Patrol and Lancaster Police stopped a vehicle after a report; he gave a false name with a mismatched resident card and was identified as 54-year-old Raymundo Rondon-Canales—a convicted sex offender who had fled a court order in Guayama and now awaits extradition to Puerto Rico. - ➤ A 27-year-old man was shot and killed at 4 a.m. Saturday at Broadway and Jefferson, Buffalo police said. The Buffalo News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Forester Joshua Konovitz explains that American chestnut trees once thrived here but a blight wiped out most, and Erie County planted about 50 trees at Chestnut Ridge in 2018 as a nod to their legacy—highlighting their educational purpose. Scientists at SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry have developed a chestnut tree that can resist the blight and may help restore the species in the future. The Buffalo News
