- ➤ Crews are working on a $110 million transformation that will turn downtown Ralph Wilson Park into a waterfront hotspot with improved access to Lake Erie—this project includes a new pedestrian bridge linking the West Side and custom sports fields. - ➤ Crime Stoppers is offering a $5,000 reward for tips on two suspects involved in a non-fatal shooting at Canalside Monday night in Buffalo — photographs of the suspects have been released and the agency encourages anyone with information to call 7168676161 or use their mobile app — to aid in the investigation. - ➤ At the 42nd annual Taste of Buffalo on July 12-13, twelve new restaurants will serve fixed portions on Delaware Avenue from Chippewa Street to Niagara Square — giving visitors a chance to try more dishes. - ➤ On June 25th, 42 people were sworn in as American citizens at the Buffalo and Erie County Naval & Military Park, marking an important day for immigrants seeking safety and new chances. - ➤ Today, the City of Buffalo ordered Sylvia's House on Bailey Avenue to cease operations and issued a condemnation notice for alleged safety violations, which could displace 65 shelter occupants. A temporary restraining order halted the closure after a lawsuit was filed, and oral arguments for a preliminary injunction are set for Friday — the dispute continues. WGRZ
- ➤ A state Supreme Court judge ruled Wednesday that over 25,000 internal Buffalo Diocese documents on abuse cases may be provided to The Buffalo News under the Freedom of Information Law—this decision lets the State Attorney General’s Office release subpoenaed records from its investigation while the diocese may appeal the ruling. - ➤ Erie Canal Harbor Development Corporation picked a design team to build a cruise ship terminal at Slip 2 on the Outer Harbor on the site of the old Pier restaurant.
