- ➤ Past Saturday, Black Rock residents led by business owner Brennon Hall from Bridge Studios NY cleaned up litter and removed four shopping carts from Scajaquada Creek behind Wegmans before gathering at Sportsmens Tavern for live music and food. - ➤ West Herr Automotive Group President CEO Scott Bieler received Daemen University's Presidential Medal, one of only five awards given to honor improvements in Western New York, and he serves on Daemen’s board—marking recognition for his work. - ➤ New York’s 106 industrial development agencies reported 4,282 projects last year with a total value of almost $136 billion, but only 215 were new and the focus has shifted to keeping jobs. In Western New York, local agencies handled 555 projects worth $9.9 billion & provided net tax breaks of $66.2 million while planning to add 14,343 jobs and retain 31,731. The Buffalo News

- ➤ New York school districts are preparing for a ban on cell phone use during the entire school day starting in the 2025-2026 school year. - ➤ Erie County’s $36 million ErieNet broadband project has installed only 18 miles of fiber out of a planned 400 due to red tape and delays in accessing over 11,600 utility poles, county officials said. They expect more fiber to be installed by year’s end as permits clear and talks with utility companies—especially National Grid—speed up approvals. The Buffalo News
