- ➤ Buffalo firefighters responded around 6:15 a.m. on Saturday to a fire at 2586 Bailey Ave.—the blaze caused $100,000 in damage and displaced six people as the cause remains under investigation and the Red Cross is now aiding those affected. WGRZ

- ➤ A 19-year-old died in a two-car crash on Grand Island's southbound 190 late Friday night when a 2007 Toyota Camry hit the rear of a 2025 Lexus SUV slowing in traffic — with multiple passengers, including a child, treated for injuries. WGRZ
- ➤ Buffalo firefighters responded at 9:36 p.m. Friday to a blaze at 77 Chauncey St. in Lovejoy that damaged a wood frame building and its contents for estimated losses of $75,000 and $35,000 — the cause remains under investigation. WGRZ
- ➤ State Police are investigating a deadly Fourth of July crash near Grand Island that occurred just before midnight on July 4 when a car struck the back of a Lexus SUV along southbound I-190—19-year-old driver Tamim Akbari died at the scene while multiple passengers were treated for injuries. ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Officials confirmed that giant hogweed — a dangerous invasive plant that causes severe burns — was found in Como Park in Lancaster following sightings along the Buffalo River shoreline last month. County and state agencies urged visitors to avoid the plant and report additional finds to NYS DEC and Erie County Parks & Recreation. WGRZ
