- ➤ A porch fire at 90 Armin Place in South Buffalo displaced one resident on Thursday afternoon and caused $135,000 in damage — firefighters were slowed by hoarding conditions as the American Red Cross provided assistance while officials investigated the cause. WGRZ

- ➤ The nation's biggest two-day food festival, Taste of Buffalo, will take over Niagara Square this weekend as new vendors bring Mexican street corn, burria tacos, mini pancakes with Nutella, and returning favorites plan thousands of cheesecake slices — downtown streets will close Friday at noon and reopen late Sunday night. - ➤ The event at the Buffalo History Museum featuring cartoonist Adam Zyglis was postponed after officials said he and his family received death threats following a controversial cartoon. The newspaper union said safety concerns led Buffalo police to cancel the scheduled appearance. WBFO
