- ➤ Buffalo man Rashaan Mallory pleaded guilty to kidnapping a woman at gunpoint and shooting a 31-year-old man after forcing her into a vehicle on Moselle Street before ordering her to exit near Emerson Park; he remains in custody and is set to be sentenced on September 3. ABC 7

- ➤ A Buffalo School Board resolution passed in June to give district students better bus rides than charter students has increased tensions as charter leaders say the plan to cut transportation funding for charter students living between 0.7 and 1.5 miles from school may be unlawful — nearly half of charter students could be affected while the board tries to save money.
