- ➤ Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen got an ownership stake in New Era and was named the first director of Billustration—he will wear 9 customized caps at the stadium with proceeds going to the Patricia Allen Fund. Visit Buffalo Niagara earned accreditation from Destination International while Canisius University raised $14.3 million in fundraising. WBEN
- ➤ The Buffalo Federation of Neighborhood Centers upgraded its food pantry at 76 Orange St. with more than $100,000 in renovations—doubling monthly support from 150 to 300 families and offering fresh produce, meat, and dry goods every Thursday and Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The organization is also renovating the building's back area to add community meeting spaces, which will be completed by fall. - ➤ Last Thursday night, someone broke into Buffalo Brewing Company and dismantled the chiller—spoiling 100 barrels of beer and causing about $25K in losses as the owner weighs repair options and a potential GoFundMe. WGRZ
- ➤ A Buffalo woman, 23-year-old Niyonna E. Cunningham, was sentenced on Thursday after pleading guilty to second-degree vehicular manslaughter for a November 28, 2024 crash near Boehm Place and Bailey Avenue that killed 62-year-old Madonna Bishop—she faces 90 days in jail and five years of probation. - ➤ Amherst Police have released bodycam video from an incident in which a suspect allegedly stabbed an officer & was shot during the confrontation. WGRZ
- ➤ Buffalo Police are seeking 49-year-old Rickey Crouch in connection with the murder of 44-year-old Amanda Thompson, who was fatally shot just after midnight Thursday at 645 South Ogden Street in the Lovejoy District — the suspect had been arrested during a May burglary at the victim's home and later for violating a protection order — Crime Stoppers is offering a $7,500 reward for information. - ➤ A 52-year-old Newfane man is accused of driving under the influence of drugs in a fatal Lockport crash where a 47-year-old passenger (identity withheld pending notification of his family) died at the scene. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Yesterday, the U.S. Senate voted to slash federal public broadcasting funds, cutting about $2 million—roughly 15% of Buffalo Toronto Public Media's budget. Tom Calderon said BTPM had prepared since January for the cuts—now the station is mobilizing its community to maintain its local programs. ABC 7

- ➤ Developer Amun Ra, CEO of AHR Development, completed an 18-month renovation of three homes on Florida and Riley streets into four affordable units for households earning no more than 80% of the area median income—he financed the project with a $461,200 construction loan and training from Community Preservation Corp. The project employed minority and female workers—helping revitalize Buffalo’s East Side neighborhoods and provide new affordable housing for local families. The Buffalo News
