- ➤ Rickey M. Crouch, 49—a Buffalo man with a history of alleged domestic violence—has been indicted for the fatal shooting of his ex-girlfriend Amanda Thompson, who was killed shortly after midnight on July 17 on South Ogden Street, and he was later arrested after a police pursuit on the Thruway ended in a car crash while he remains held without bail. - ➤ Buffalo's 54th annual Grease Pole Festival kicked off Friday at 261 Swan St with live music, food trucks, and family fun—teams climbed a 35-foot greasy pole to grab a sausage for a $2,000 prize. - ➤ Buffalo drivers will face road closures this Sunday morning for the annual SkyRide event. NYSDOT announced that parts of the Skyway and I-190 ramps will be closed from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m. — some on-ramps close at 10 a.m. — as GoBike Buffalo plans a 13-mile ride with about 1,500 riders expected.
