  • The Lewiston Art Festival returns for its 59th year—drawing more than 200 artists, dancers, food venders and musicians to Center Street in the village this weekend. Organizers expect live music and dance performances to add to the festive atmosphere.  WGRZ

  • Seneca Nation President J.C. Seneca, 65, said he is working with law enforcement and state officials to fight drug trafficking on tribe lands and to secure a new gaming compact that will offer fair benefits for his people. He explained his plans to strengthen ties with local and federal partners — a move aimed at boosting both safety and financial stability.  The Buffalo News
  • Buffalo police say their new foot patrol unit has received positive community feedback since it began walking the city in June, quickly helping residents in emergencies (for example, being on scene when an older man experienced heart troubles) and collecting survey data to guide future district expansions. Officers plan to use the survey results to address local concerns like traffic enforcement and speed bumps.  The Buffalo News
