- ➤ A recent sensory-friendly session at Tonawanda’s Paddock Chevrolet Spray Park drew large crowds and officials reported the facility sees 30 to 40 times more use than Brighton Pool as its season can extend if weather allows—Buffalo’s Centennial splash pad will offer extended hours until 8 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday to help residents beat the heat. - ➤ On Tuesday, August 12th, a hearing was held in Buffalo as nine parishes (from Western New York) sued the Buffalo Diocese to stop an 80 percent contribution toward a $150 million bankruptcy settlement, arguing that the payments would destroy their churches. Diocesan attorneys said the parishes must share liability for 900 Child Victim Act cases while the judge reserved his decision (with a finalized plan expected by September 1) after reviewing all arguments.
