The company also faces a potential shutdown at its Tonawanda facility if it fails to submit a valid solid waste management permit by Aug.29 — state DEC rules require compliance following regulation changes in 2017 — which could disrupt service for many clients. - ➤ Erie County DA Michael Keane said that 19-year-old Jakai Lofton was sentenced to 25 years to life and 19-year-old Anthony Borden received 8 years for the fatal shooting of 21-year-old Quban Embry at 200 Shirley Avenue in Buffalo in August 2023 — Embry died from multiple gunshot wounds on the home's front porch. - ➤ New York State's Attorney General Letitia James launched an investigation into the officer-involved shooting in North Buffalo that killed 60-year-old Hugh Davis Jr. last week + Cheektowaga officers remain on paid administrative leave while investigators review body cam footage and witness statements.
