ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A bus crash closed all eastbound lanes on I-90 in Pembroke between exit 49 (Depew) and exit 48A (Pembroke), and state police and the Thruway Authority advised drivers to use alternate routes.  ABC 7

CULTURE NEWS

  • Frightworld in North Buffalo is holding auditions this weekend at the old KMart on Hertel Avenue to hire 175 workers for a spooky fall season. General manager Trevor Feger said job roles include scare actors and event staff and that candidates will perform in five themed houses—one of which will be unveiled next week.  WBEN

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The Grand Island school district changed its earlier decision and now will let high school senior Sabrina Steffans display her parking spot design that has a Bible verse and religious images—she fought an initial rejection—. She will paint her paid-for spot this weekend as the school continues its senior tradition.  ABC 7

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • A new survey from Ciminelli Real Estate invites downtown Buffalo residents and workers to share their preferences for downtown living. The survey asks about income, commute times, jobs, and amenities (including gyms, outdoor space, walkability, and safety) and shows many are interested in rent help from employers.  WBEN

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Bills have sold about 43,000 personal seat licenses—roughly 80% of the nearly 55,000 available—in their new stadium in Orchard Park, with lower prices starting at $750 sparking quick sales that may lead to a sellout by year’s end. The team will close the exclusive sales window for current season ticket holders on Sept. 19 and then begin reaching out to fans on the waitlist.  The Buffalo News
