- ➤ Late Saturday night, a car crashed into a concrete barrier near Niagara Falls Boulevard on I-290 in Tonawanda, injuring two teenagers and a juvenile while a police car responding to the scene was hit by another vehicle that injured a police officer and its driver—authorities are investigating both crashes. - ➤ Buffalo Diocese’s settlement fund reached $272.5 million after Continental Insurance Co. and Wausau Insurance agreed to pay $122.5 million, but abuse survivors remain frustrated by ongoing delays in the Chapter 11 case. The diocese and its creditors committee will negotiate with more insurers and file a reorganization plan by Oct. 1 — a move that may prolong the final resolution. The Buffalo News
