- ➤ Build Promise is a new shelter for homeless men in Buffalo with 96 beds that offers a laundry, barbershop, and security cameras—meant to help men get back on their feet amid rising homelessness. Community leaders say the center will also serve as a hub for mental and physical health support. WGRZ
- ➤ Amy’s Place of Hope opened on Buffalo’s east side to serve homeless men and local neighbors by offering shelter, care, and other services. The 24000 square foot center is named for Amy Betros, co-founder of St. Luke’s Mission of Mercy, and it has 96 indoor beds and 80 emergency beds—its ribbon cutting was attended by local leaders. WBFO

- ➤ Fresh Catch is preparing to open its third location on Hertel Avenue in Buffalo — the fast-casual restaurant will serve its popular seafood dishes to more customers as details remain under wraps until a full announcement is made. WGRZ
- ➤ Pyramid Management Group reached an agreement with its loan provider — giving the firm more time to secure new financing and avoid foreclosure on Walden Galleria — after missing a May payment and facing a legal complaint in June. The company said it will close on the new financing by year end and focus on the center's future growth. ABC 7

- ➤ Baristas vs. Billionaires is premiering today at the Buffalo International Film Festival at North Park Theatre and tells the story of the Elmwood Starbucks union vote in 2021 that sparked a national movement at over 650 stores—director Mark Mori, narrated by Susan Sarandon, will join a Q&A panel at downtown studios of Buffalo Toronto Public Media from 4—5 p.m. to add insight into our local labor history. - ➤ Buffalo Zoo will kick off the fall season with Brew at the Zoo: Country Night on Oct. 17 from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. as an adults-only event featuring live music, food trucks, and after-hours nocturnal animal views — Boo at the Zoo will be held on Oct. 18 and Oct. 25 with trick-or-treat trails, carousel rides, and animal ambassador visits for families.
