  • The city is building a huge new park that will provide world-class green spaces and usable community areas. Dan Higgins said the project may preserve the Wilson legacy and might even outlast the NFL.  The Buffalo News
  • Bella Kids Pop-Up Sale returns to Grapevine Event Center in Depew this weekend.  WGRZ

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Blue Eyed Baker, an East Aurora bakery, has leased a 3,000 sq ft space at 50 Buffalo St. in Hamburg where Lassos Chicken & BBQ closed last month; the new site will offer breakfast and lunch every day and dinner from Thursday to Sunday.  WGRZ
  • The five winners of Thursday night's 43North competition at Shea's Performing Arts Center in Buffalo announced plans to scale operations and hire local talent — three said they would build manufacturing plants in the area.  The Buffalo News

ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Long dry conditions have left more than a dozen homes along Indian Falls Road in Pembroke without well water for weeks or months. Residents like Janet Seaver and Kim Reed have set up barrel and hose systems — and trucked water — to stock up for winter as they fight the drought.  WGRZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Buffalo will see a $16 million Michigan Avenue streetscape project work begin design now with construction set for 2027 along the African American Heritage Corridor—aimed at improving sidewalks, benches, and landscaping to uplift Black history and attract private investment. City and state leaders say the project is jointly funded by federal, state, and city dollars and is key to a broader renewal on the East Side.  WBEN

HEALTH NEWS

  • Cuba Memorial, a rural hospital serving many Medicaid patients, has fought for survival for 100 years and now faces tougher challenges as funding pressures and high costs raise uncertainty. Hospital leaders say the hospital must work hard to manage these new hurdles and continue providing care.  The Buffalo News

LIFESTYLE NEWS

  • Falley Allen on Allen Street in Buffalo is offering a Halloween brunch with spooky dishes and festive cocktails—manager Jill Baker said the themed meals run on weekends through November 2 while late-night Halloween parties with costume contests are planned on October 31 and November 1.  WGRZ

  • After Ryan McLeod scored two goals in an 8-4 win against Ottawa, the Buffalo Sabres will host the Florida Panthers today at 1 p.m. EDT—this is the teams' first meeting this season.  WGRZ
  • WWE Monday Night Raw will return to KeyBank Center on January 5 with top superstars such as CM Punk, Jey Uso, Rhea Ripley, and Becky Lynch performing. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30 p.m.—tickets go on sale on October 24 at 10 a.m.  ABC 7
