- ➤ GBAS received ten new handcycles from West Herr Automotive Group and the Scott Bieler Family Foundation at West Herr Chevrolet in Williamsville to boost adaptive cycling opportunities in Western New York—this donation will allow more athletes to enjoy group rides and year-round events like the Ride for Roswell. - ➤ Gigi's Playhouse will hold a major fundraiser on November 1 at the Atrium at Rich's in support of Down syndrome awareness month—local attendees can help raise funds and awareness for the cause. WGRZ
- ➤ Some West Amherst residents are struggling to get fresh food due to a lack of transportation—seniors and young families face challenges reaching grocery stores more than 7 miles away—and they are forced to rely on limited local options. ABC 7
- ➤ The Buffalo Bills players handed out 200 backpacks — filled with winter gear — to homeless residents to help them prepare for the cold weather. WGRZ

- ➤ Buffalo's HUNT Real Estate named Charlie Hunt as its new CEO as the firm enters the fourth generation of Hunt family leadership — his father Peter is set to become Executive Chairman. Independent Health’s Medicare Advantage plan earned a 5-star rating, Erie County nearly tied its record with the 82nd million-dollar home sale in Clarence, and the Sikh Cultural & Educational Society purchased a 20,000 sq ft building for $1.5 million. - ➤ Empire State Development announced Tuesday that MAHLE will receive a $6.8 million expansion at its Lockport facility to relocate a Michigan research center to Niagara County—expected to create at least 11 new jobs and retain 226—and will benefit from $1.7 million in tax credits. WGRZ
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Town of Newfane and a landowner are in a dispute over property along 18 Mile Creek near Fisherman's Town Park, and the town may seek to seize the land. Town officials are exploring adverse possession and prescriptive easement options — moves that could alter access for local anglers — while the issue remains unresolved. WGRZ
- ➤ Buffalo Bills and NFTA are building a 10-station transportation hub for NFTA buses at the new Highmark Stadium—set to open next summer with the hub ready by summer 2026. They held a public meeting on Oct. 27 to seek input on service improvements—ideas that may lead to a future Metro Rail expansion. WBEN
- ➤ Jennifer Butera will lead the City of Buffalo Animal Shelter as its new director (she replaces the retired director). WGRZ

- ➤ The DePaul Group plans to demolish the vacant building at 2700 Main Street—near Bennett High School—and build an 80-unit apartment facility for people with mental and other illnesses by late next year.
