CULTURE NEWS

  • The Kenan Center is hosting its biennial Quilt Show that highlights local quilters’ artistry and craftsmanship—an event that has run since the 1980s—drawing attention to a long-standing local tradition.  WGRZ
  • The Jonas Brothers visited Gabriel's Gate in Buffalo to try their famous wings ahead of their concert — their chauffeur said the wings are the best in the city and the band posted their review on Instagram.  WGRZ

EDUCATION NEWS

  • The student-run queer space in Student Union 373 will remain open until Dec. 19 so club members can pack and relocate belongings—after that the room will be converted into a commuter lounge as renovations begin immediately. The university confirmed no further extensions will be allowed while the club uses the time to contest the closure.  The Spectrum

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Residents in Buffalo are getting ready for a harsh winter by switching to snow tires and checking their homes for drafts and frozen pipes. Acting Mayor Chris Scanlon is planning to update Buffalo’s official snow plan — it will include details on snow removal fleets and equipment readiness before cold weather sets in.  WGRZ
  • Buffalo flyers may face more delays as the government shutdown forces the FAA to cut flights by 4% now and possibly 10% soon—experts advise checking airline apps for updates and choosing early morning flights to lessen the impact on regional routes such as New York City to Buffalo. Passengers are encouraged to verify their flight status as companies plan to cancel less critical routes to minimize overall disruption.  ABC 7

HEALTH NEWS

  • The New York State Department of Health warned parents and caregivers in Buffalo to stop using recalled ByHeart powdered infant formula—products linked to a multistate infant botulism outbreak, though no cases have been reported locally. The state is working with the FDA, CDC and local health departments to monitor symptoms like constipation and drooping eyelids and guide safe disposal or replacement.  WGRZ

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • Regan Development Corp. of Westchester County bought the former Amherst Bowling Center site at 47 Amherst St. for $2 million and plans to knock down the building — to build a three-story, 139,000-square-foot apartment complex. The sale was completed by Amherst Commons Development Fund Co. Inc. from 47 East Amherst LLC.  WGRZ

  • Bills tight end Dalton Kincaid left Sunday's Miami game with a hamstring injury and did not return to play — he had two catches for 37 yards before his exit.  WGRZ
  • Bills quarterback Josh Allen and coach Sean McDermott spoke at a postgame news conference after the team's loss to the Dolphins in Miami—where they stressed the need to improve future play—and acknowledged the tough challenges faced during Week 10.  WGRZ
  • The UB women's basketball team raised their championship banner—honoring their first postseason WNIT win in April—in preparation for their upcoming home opener. The ceremony highlighted a key milestone that boosts team spirit for future games.  WGRZ
