- ➤ The 20th annual Operation: Rock Out Hunger to benefit FeedMore WNY starts at 3 p.m. on November 18 and runs until 9:30 a.m. on November 25 — DJ Jickster from 97 Rock will live in a trailer at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital to collect funds and food donations. ABC 7
- ➤ Local groups led by Oishei Children's Hospital launched the WNY Forward Fund to award up to $25,000 in grants for nonprofits until December 12th, and West Herr with the Rural Outreach Center will give out 250 turkeys on November 22nd at 730 Olean Road in East Aurora—Trocaire College also named Dr. Christine Ryan to its leadership council to guide school policy. - ➤ The Buffalo City Mission was named as the new lead agency for the Code Blue initiative—managing the overnight shelter at 100 East Tupper St. in Buffalo. The shelter will serve men and women in need during cold nights and when daytime temperatures drop below 32 degrees. WGRZ

- ➤ A Buffalo family’s 13-year-old dog Penny fell through a rip in the pool cover and was trapped for three hours—she is now recovering after a vet visit while the cover is being repaired. ABC 7

- ➤ Ted's Hot Dogs closed its Downtown Buffalo location on Chippewa Street, between Delaware and S. Elmwood, in late October after a 10-year run — a move that joins other restaurant closures as businesses face post-pandemic challenges. ABC 7
- ➤ Rosina Food Products in West Seneca nears completion of its expansion that will soon double meatball production — the company is hiring staff to manage the increased workload. The Buffalo News
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ An East Aurora woman received several calls about joining a Child Safety Kit program that promises a digital way to help law enforcement with Amber Alerts—after speaking with the local police, she learned that such kits are not used due to constantly changing child data. A program representative said the service is offered through free apps via a partnership with insurance companies and a police union, so she chose not to enroll. ABC 7

- ➤ After months of planning and filming in the area, East Aurora hosted a red carpet premiere for Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story— a free Peppermint Rally with a special reception at 42 North Brewing— as actors and Bills players arrived in decorated golf carts. The movie will premiere on November 22 on Hallmark Channel. ABC 7

- ➤ Daemen University President Gary Olson announced that all faculty and staff will receive a 3% raise effective Dec. 15 (the first raise since 2023) as enrollment rises. The Buffalo News

- ➤ Hospice workers at a historic campus called on Gov. Hochul to sign a bill that will restrict for-profit hospices until stronger patient safeguards are in place— the measure passed the Senate and Assembly and now awaits her signature. WBFO
- ➤ Ely Samuel Parker, a Seneca leader and Civil War officer who served in Grant's cabinet, was posthumously admitted yesterday to the New York State Bar in Buffalo — a move that corrected a past law which had denied him citizenship for legal practice. His descendants worked for years to honor his legacy and right this historical wrong. WBEN

- ➤ Buffalo Bills announced Friday that tight end Dalton Kincaid and defensive tackle Phidarian Mathis are ruled out of Sunday's game due to injuries—Kincaid suffers a hamstring issue and Mathis a shoulder injury.
