- ➤ Amherst library is now named after Shirley Chisholm as advocates praised her legacy while some locals questioned her connection to the community. The renaming replaces Audubon and marks a fresh chapter for the town resource. The Buffalo News
- ➤ On Saturday, Dec. 6, Bills fans skated with wide receiver Josh Palmer and mascot Billy Buffalo at Ice at Canalside (44 Prime Street) where raffles, giveaways, and Buffalo-themed activities boosted charity with $1 from skate rentals benefiting the Muslim Society of Buffalo. WGRZ
- ➤ The Food 2 Families drive raised over $126,000 and collected more than 10,000 lbs of food on Saturday to support families in need across WNY + local food assistance programs will benefit from this effort. WGRZ

- ➤ Buffalonians enjoyed the annual Christmas tree lighting at Rotary Rink on Main St., where they gathered for ice skating, face painting, and a visit from Santa. The festive event added holiday cheer to the community. WGRZ

- ➤ Roswell Park’s lung cancer screening program detected a woman’s illness early, and officials say the timely care saved her life. Fewer Western New Yorkers are smoking while more are getting screened, which is lowering lung cancer deaths in our community. The Buffalo News
