- ➤ The DEC has announced a Holiday Deer Hunt in New York’s Southern Zone that starts Dec. 26 and ends Jan. 1, allowing late bow and muzzleloader hunting. Hunters need a valid license and must wear blaze orange (if using a muzzleloader) to stay safe during winter outings. WGRZ
- ➤ The New York State DMV announced the Gold Star Family license plate—designed to honor families of fallen soldiers—which is now available for qualifying family members to order through the DMV website. WGRZ

- ➤ Erie County reported 661 flu cases for the week ended Dec. 13 (up from 308 last week) and health officials warn more cases will appear before the holidays. The Buffalo News
- ➤ BestResponse Intensive Crisis Center at 430 Niagara St. is set to open soon to serve five counties and will handle about 4,000 patients a year + the new facility fills a long-standing community need. The Buffalo News
