  • On Saturday evening, the Buffalo Fire Department held a memorial to honor the five people killed in a 42-year-old propane explosion on N. Division St. Residents gathered to pay tribute to the victims and remember the tragic loss.  WGRZ
  • Slow Roll held a bike ride in the snow Saturday to honor their late squad member Lydia, who passed away unexpectedly last year. The group rode local routes to remember her and celebrate her life.  WGRZ

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • At 11 Topaz Court in East Amherst, a chimney fire spread to the roof and attic around 7:00 a.m. Saturday, causing $450K in damages before multiple fire companies quickly extinguished the blaze with no injuries reported.  WGRZ

CULTURE NEWS

  • A M & A's Christmas window displays have been installed at St. Adalbert's Basilica in Buffalo, offering festive exhibits that invite visitors to enjoy a cherished local holiday tradition.  WGRZ

ECONOMY NEWS

  • New York State’s minimum wage will rise on Jan. 1, 2026 with most workers earning $16 per hour and workers in NYC, Westchester, and Long Island receiving $17. Gov. Hochul said the move is part of a multi-year plan that will tie future increases to inflation.  WGRZ

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • NFTA resumed above-ground rail service after an overnight suspension (ice caused the delay), and the service is now running normally.  WGRZ

SPORTS NEWS

  • The NFL fined offensive tackle Dion Dawkins $11,593 for a helmet opening violation on a fourth-down play in the fourth quarter during Buffalo’s 23-20 road win over the Browns — the win clinched an AFC playoff spot for the Bills.  WGRZ
  • Buffalo Bills play the Philadelphia Eagles today at Highmark Stadium as a win is needed to keep division title hopes alive. The team must win its final two games to overtake the Patriots, facing challenges from key injuries (including DaQuan Jones and Jordan Phillips) and limited participation from Josh Allen.  WGRZ
  • Buffalo Sabres coach Lindy Ruff praised his team after they beat the Bruins 4-1 at home today in their eighth straight win. Mattias Samuelsson led with 1 goal and 2 assists.  WGRZ
