Country Honk is a Cleveland-based four-piece playing classic country, honky tonk, and country rock with a sound rooted in the ’60s and ’70s. Drawing from artists like Hank Williams, Buck Owens, Merle Haggard, Willie Nelson, and Waylon Jennings, the band combines original songwriting with the sounds and spirit of country’s golden era. Featuring Thor Platter on guitar and vocals, Thomas “Preb” Prebish on bass and vocals, Anthony Papaleo on electric guitar, steel, fiddle, piano and vocals, and Fred Perez-Stable on drums and percussion, Country Honk has built a following throughout the Midwest and continues to expand its reach beyond its Northeast Ohio home base.

The band released its debut album, Bad Decision , in 2025, earning attention from Saving Country Music and reaching new audiences across the U.S. Country Honk has performed throughout Ohio and the Midwest, including an official showcase at Nashville’s AMERICANAFEST, and has shared bills with artists from across the country music and Americana scene. With a new record in the works for 2027, the band continues to grow its audience while bringing its brand of real, classic country music to stages well beyond Cleveland.
