Opening Celebration: You are the ceremony. This is the ritual.

About this event

Celebrate the opening of You are the ceremony. This is the ritual. , an exhibition that looks back on twelve years of Torn Space Theater's site-based performance at Silo City, the sprawling campus of abandoned grain elevators on Buffalo's waterfront. Year upon year, Torn Space developed a ceremonial world in Silo City's industrial spaces, with its own symbols, rituals, and beliefs. The performances drew in marching bands, blacksmiths, gospel singers, operating engineers, boxers, horseback riders, and community members, working alongside theater artists and designers. This exhibition brings that parallel society into the galleries for a retrospective of their groundbreaking work. Join us for the first look, on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 4-7pm.
