Few grapes know how to make an entrance quite like Zinfandel. Bursting with ripe berries, peppery spice, and sometimes enough alcohol to make you check the label twice, it’s a grape that rarely does things by halves. From gnarly old California vines to its European roots and the ever-controversial blush in the room, we’ll uncork Zinfandel’s many identities, explore what makes it tick, and separate the vinous legends from the marketing nonsense. Subtlety optional. Curiosity essential.
