If you cross the Louisiana Street Bridge, this one's for you. Mayor Sean Ryan on Monday proposed a $94 million capital budget for 2027 to “repair and rebuild” Buffalo's infrastructure. It's $59.1 million in bonding and $34.9 million in emergency bonding.
Spectrum News Buffalo says the plan puts $22.5 million toward citywide engineering improvements and more than $10 million toward the Louisiana Street bridge, which it describes as littered with potholes. WIVB adds $2.2 million for the West Ferry Lift Bridge and a $9 million roof program.
- Roof money: mostly community centers, ice rinks and Shea's
- Next step: Common Council review and amendments
- Final vote: typically by the end of November
