Three Buffalo School Board members are skipping a vendor conference in Arizona after questions about travel spending while the district considers closing schools. Board President Kathy Evans-Brown announced Thursday that no board members will attend. She, Stephon Wright and Lewis “Muki” Hawkins had planned to go, and the special meeting set for Friday on the trip was canceled.

Board member Larry Scott had called the trip “shameful”, noting the district has a multi-million dollar contract with the vendor, Woz Ed. “I believe that we need to set the example of being responsible with how we’re spending our money,” Scott said.
